Overview Accurex HBsAg Card Test Kit

The AccuTest HBsAg rapid diagnostic test detects Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), a key indicator of hepatitis B infection, a viral liver disease affecting an estimated 240 million chronically. Chronic infection is defined by persistent HBsAg detection for at least six months. HBsAg, composed of lipids, carbohydrates, and proteins, serves as a marker for chronic HBV infection. Transmission occurs through sexual contact or intravenous routes, with a six-month incubation period. Untreated, it can progress to acute or chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, or fulminant hepatic failure. This test is crucial for screening blood donors to identify HBsAg-positive individuals. The AccuTest HBsAg employs a one-step immunochromatographic assay (sandwich principle). Positive results may necessitate antiviral therapy. Storage: 4-30°C (sealed pouch allows room temperature storage up to 30°C). The test uses a monoclonal antibody-colloidal gold conjugate and polyclonal antibodies on a nitrocellulose strip. The sample interacts with the reagent, and if HBsAg is present, a purple test line (T zone) appears, indicating a positive result. A control line (C zone) confirms proper test function. Instructions: Bring test and sample to room temperature. Add one drop of serum/plasma or whole blood (25 µL) to the sample well, followed by 2-3 drops (60 µL) of buffer. Read results at 20 minutes (strong positives may appear within 5). Repeat with a fresh sample if results are negative or unclear. Safety: This test detects HBsAg. Results should be interpreted alongside clinical findings and other test data. Stagnant flow suggests a sample issue; repeat with a fresh or diluted sample.
