Durable and shock-resistant, the device features a 37.8°C (100°F) fever alarm and displays temperatures from 32.0°C to 42.9°C (89.6°F to 109.2°F). Typical oral temperature ranges from 35.7°C to 37.3°C (96.26°F to 99.14°F). Rectal: Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the thermometer tip for smoother insertion. Carefully insert the sensor about 1 cm (less than ½ inch) into the rectum. Expect a normal rectal temperature between 97.16°F and 99.86°F. Axillary: Dry the underarm thoroughly. Secure the thermometer in the armpit, keeping the arm pressed against the body. Normal axillary temperature lies between 95.36°F and 98.06°F.
