CARODIN tablets provide a blend of beta-carotene, vitamins C and E, zinc, and selenium. Beta-carotene, a provitamin A carotenoid, acts as a dietary supplement, primarily combating vitamin A deficiency and mitigating photosensitivity in erythropoietic porphyria. Its antioxidant properties shield against UV damage and free radical attack by neutralizing reactive oxygen species (ROS), such as singlet oxygen and superoxide anions, thus protecting cells. Further applications include alleviating exercise-induced asthma, potentially reducing the risk of heart disease, cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and are being explored for conditions such as AIDS, alcoholism, headache, heartburn, and hypertension.
