Overview Cologenesis Cologide Collagen Sheet
Bovine-derived collagen constitutes the Cologenesis Cologide Collagen Sheet, a resorbable, non-brittle barrier membrane. Its high purity, achieved through rigorous processing of Type I collagen from carefully selected and certified animals, minimizes antigenicity. Applications include: Periodontal regeneration for infrabony defects. Guided bone regeneration in oral implantology (sinus augmentation, ridge expansion, peri-implant defects). Augmentation procedures (horizontal and vertical ridge augmentation, maxillary sinus augmentation). Surgical interventions such as root resection and cyst removal, addressing various bone lesions. Product Characteristics: The Cologide membrane balances flexibility and structural integrity, ensuring predictable resorption. Its dual-surface design features a dense, soft-tissue-contacting layer (inhibiting epithelial ingrowth) and a porous, bone-contacting layer (promoting bone integration). The membrane exhibits robust in vivo stability and mechanical strength, ideal as a barrier material. With a resorption timeframe of 20–24 weeks, it provides sustained support throughout bone repair. The sterile, single-use Cologide sheets are individually packaged. Instructions for Use: Strict adherence to aseptic surgical protocols is mandatory. A full-thickness mucoperiosteal flap should be elevated to expose the underlying bone defect, extending at least 5 mm beyond the defect perimeter. Thorough debridement of granulation tissue is essential. After site preparation, graft material may be introduced into the defect. Using a template, the membrane should be precisely sized (extending 2–3 mm beyond the defect margins). The membrane, once moistened with blood, conforms readily to the bone. The porous surface should contact the bone; the dense surface, the soft tissue. Secure immobilization is crucial (sutures or fixation systems) to prevent micromotion and impaired bone growth. Primary wound closure is required. Contraindications include conditions compromising bone or wound healing (acute/chronic bone infection, uncontrolled diabetes, prolonged high-dose steroid use, compromised implant site vascularity, metabolic bone disease, alcohol/tobacco abuse). Safety Precautions: Discard if the packaging is damaged or compromised. Do not use beyond the expiration date. Single-use only; resterilization is prohibited. Store in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight. Consult the product label before use. Keep out of children’s reach. For external use only.
How to Use Cologenesis Cologide Collagen Sheet:
Strict adherence to established sterile surgical protocols is mandatory. A mucoperiosteal flap, encompassing at least 5mm of healthy tissue beyond the bone defect's perimeter on all sides, must be created to fully expose the defect. Thorough debridement of all granulation tissue from the defect is essential. Following meticulous preparation, the defect is ready for graft material placement. A template should guide membrane sizing, ensuring a 2-3mm overlap beyond the defect margins. The membrane, easily conforming to the bone once moistened by blood, should be oriented with its porous side against the bone and smooth side facing soft tissue. Secure immobilization is crucial to prevent micromovement and compromised bone integration; sutures or a fixation system may be employed. Primary wound closure, maintaining flap integrity, is necessary. Contraindications mirroring those for bone grafts—acute/chronic bone infection, poorly controlled diabetes, prolonged high-dose steroid use, compromised site vascularity, metabolic bone disease, and smoking/alcohol abuse—preclude the use of this material.
