Disovex ear drops, a formulation combining paradichlorobenzene, benzocaine, chlorobutanol, and turpentine oil, offer symptomatic relief for ear inflammation. Paradichlorobenzene facilitates cerumen removal, while benzocaine provides anesthetic action, addressing pain and itching. Indicated for middle and outer ear inflammation with congestion, Disovex's application involves: positioning the patient with the affected ear upward; instilling 5–10 drops into the ear canal; inserting a cotton pledget for 15–30 minutes; gently removing softened earwax with a cotton swab; and then carefully irrigating the canal with lukewarm water using a bulb syringe (avoiding forceful flushing). Repeat the instillation and cotton placement to discourage fungal growth. This regimen should be followed for one week, addressing both ears if necessary. Always use under a physician's guidance.
