Highly effective in treating pertussis. Daytime coughing fits are infrequent, but nighttime episodes are frequent, often followed by emesis post-prandially. Symptoms include asthma-like breathing, a sulfurous cough aggravated by speech, deep hollow cough with chest soreness, hoarseness, and pain. Severe, convulsive coughing is worse at night.
