Rectal evacuation solution, Exit Enema, facilitates bowel movement. Its active component, a 16% w/v sodium phosphate solution, functions as a hyperosmotic laxative, drawing fluid into the bowel to promote peristalsis. Typically, bowel evacuation occurs within 5-10 minutes. This enema prepares the gastrointestinal tract for procedures such as colonoscopies or radiographic examinations. However, prolonged use is discouraged due to potential systemic sodium phosphate absorption and adverse reactions. The solution is administered via a conveniently designed, soft-tipped applicator for comfortable rectal insertion. Instructions: Assume a left lateral recumbent position; gently insert the lubricated applicator into the anus and completely squeeze the container to empty its contents into the rectum.
