Rectal solution, Proctovac, promotes bowel movement within half an hour. Each 30 mL enema contains 15% w/v glycerin and 15% w/v sodium chloride. Glycerin, a hyperosmotic laxative, draws fluid into the bowel, stimulating peristalsis through both osmotic pressure and mild irritation. Sodium chloride further enhances this effect by increasing rectal fluid volume and promoting contractions. Proctovac facilitates effortless stool passage. The flexible, transparent, squeezable plastic applicator features a comfortably sized nozzle for simple rectal administration. It's indicated for constipation relief and to prevent straining during defecation, particularly beneficial for individuals with cardiac conditions or hernias. Administration: Assume a left lateral decubitus position with knees flexed. Gently insert the lubricated nozzle into the anus and completely empty the contents into the rectum.
