Fegen XT tablets combine ferrous ascorbate (an iron source) and folic acid (vitamin B9). Folic acid plays a vital role in various bodily processes, including DNA synthesis and homocysteine metabolism, particularly crucial during periods of accelerated cellular growth. Adequate folic acid is necessary for both children and adults to support healthy red blood cell production and prevent anemia. Iron, essential for oxygen transport and red blood cell maintenance, contributes to energy levels and prevents anemia. Fegen XT tablets are indicated for iron-deficiency anemia, iron deficiency from chronic bleeding or insufficient dietary intake, and nutritional anemias, especially those arising during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
