Feripro syrup boosts nutrition in pregnant women, containing ferric ammonium citrate, folic acid, and cyanocobalamin. Pregnancy often causes low hemoglobin and nutritional deficiencies. The iron in ferric ammonium citrate, a key hemoglobin component, is absorbed somewhat less efficiently than ferrous salts due to slower oxidation in the gut; however, it remains a widely used hematinic.
