Each Folitab Tablet delivers 5 mg of folic acid. This folic acid helps lower blood homocysteine levels, mitigating oxidative stress. It also stimulates cell growth, treats and prevents megaloblastic anemia, and significantly reduces the risk of neural tube defects in developing fetuses. Pregnant women with a history of affected pregnancies should take Folitab during preconception and the first trimester to minimize the risks of neural tube defects and anemia. Furthermore, Folitab offers beneficial effects for individuals with rheumatoid arthritis who are on methotrexate, lessening associated side effects. It's also prescribed for hyperhomocysteinemia and irritable bowel syndrome.
