Sorbitol, also known commercially as Ora-Sweet SF, PCCA Sweet-SF, and PCCA Plus, functions as a non-stimulant laxative and artificial sweetener. Administered orally as a suspension, or rectally as an enema, its high concentration draws water into the colon, promoting bowel movements. This action alleviates occasional constipation and helps regulate bowel function.
