K Cit MB 6 tablets feature magnesium citrate, potassium citrate, and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) as key components. Potassium citrate primarily elevates urinary citrate levels by altering renal citrate processing, not by increasing its filtered amount. This effect results in urine less likely to facilitate the formation of kidney stones (calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate, and uric acid). Furthermore, it hinders the spontaneous crystallization of calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate. Magnesium citrate counteracts calcium oxalate crystal formation in urine. Pyridoxine reduces hepatic oxalate production, while magnesium's intestinal binding prevents oxalate reabsorption and subsequent kidney stone development. K Cit MB 6 tablets are indicated for: maintaining electrolyte balance, preventing and treating kidney stones, supporting kidney health, and preventing calcium oxalate kidney stones.
