Overview Microgen Opadex Disinfectant

Microgen Opadex is a ready-to-use, high-level disinfectant designed for processing heat-sensitive, reusable semi-critical medical instruments, including endoscopes, where thermal sterilization is impractical. Compatible with manual (bucket/tray) systems constructed from polypropylene, ABS, polyethylene, glass-reinforced polypropylene, and/or polycarbonate, Opadex is also suitable for automated endoscope reprocessors. No activation step is needed. Prior to high-level disinfection, thorough cleaning with an enzymatic detergent (e.g., Zymokleen) is crucial to remove organic and inorganic residues which can compromise disinfection efficacy. Product characteristics include a rapid action time (5-12 minutes), superior mycobactericidal action compared to glutaraldehyde, a significantly reduced odor profile, broad material compatibility, and a non-carcinogenic formulation.
