Nilcid MPS Syrup combines Simethicone and Magaldrate to alleviate symptoms of functional gastrointestinal disorders. These disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome, functional dyspepsia, peptic ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux disease, manifest as smooth muscle spasms, gas, abdominal bloating, hyperacidity, and general gastric discomfort. The antacid components neutralize stomach acid, elevating the pH in the stomach and duodenum. While not forming a mucosal coating, they exert a localized astringent action. Simethicone targets symptoms like acidity, bloating, and bowel irregularity, while Magaldrate addresses indigestion, heartburn, and gas, rapidly buffering existing stomach acid.
