Overview S.W.F.I Liquid

Sterile Water for Injection (S.W.F.I.) is a liquid intended exclusively for parenteral administration following the reconstitution of medications requiring dilution or dissolution in a sterile aqueous solution. This nonpyrogenic, sterile preparation lacks bacteriostatic or antimicrobial agents, and contains no added buffers. Packaged solely in single-dose containers, it serves as a diluent for injectable drugs. For intravenous (IV) use, incorporate enough medication to achieve a near-isotonic solution. Given its small volume, S.W.F.I.'s impact on fluid balance when used solely as a pharmaceutical diluent is generally negligible, with potential exceptions being neonates and very young infants. Medical supervision is mandatory.
