Blue flag (Iris versicolor) is a homeopathic preparation derived from this perennial plant. Indicated for digestive distress including anorexia, intense burning sensations throughout the gastrointestinal tract, bloody/bilious vomiting, excessive salivation, and a burning, raw feeling in the mouth and throat as if scalded. Watery diarrhea with anal burning is also characteristic. Symptoms may include tinnitus (buzzing, ringing, roaring) and deafness. Headaches, particularly on the right side, may follow intense mental exertion, worsening at night and during rest, improving with activity; blurred vision may precede the headache.
