Blue flag (Iris versicolor) is a homeopathic preparation derived from this perennial plant. Its traditional uses include addressing digestive complaints such as appetite loss, intense burning sensations throughout the gastrointestinal tract, bloody and bilious vomiting, excessive salivation, and a burning mouth and tongue feeling as if scalded. Watery diarrhea with anal and intestinal burning may also be present. Associated symptoms can involve hearing loss accompanied by tinnitus (ringing, buzzing, roaring), and right-sided headaches, often preceded by blurred vision after periods of intense mental exertion. These headaches typically worsen at night and during rest. Movement provides relief. Side effects are not known.
