Blue flag (Iris versicolor) is a homeopathic preparation derived from the blue flag perennial. Its traditional uses include addressing gastrointestinal distress such as anorexia, intense burning sensations throughout the digestive tract (mouth to anus), bloody and bilious vomiting, excessive salivation, and a burning, scalded feeling in the mouth and throat. Watery diarrhea with anal and intestinal burning may also be present. Additional indications include tinnitus (ringing, buzzing, or roaring in the ears) accompanied by hearing loss, and right-sided headaches, often preceded by blurred vision after periods of intense mental exertion. These headaches tend to worsen at night, during rest, and in the evening, finding relief only with continuous movement. Side effects are not reported. To maximize efficacy, consume this remedy at least 30 minutes before or after food, drinks, or other medications.
