Blue flag (Iris versicolor) is a perennial herb used medicinally. Its applications include addressing digestive distress such as appetite loss, intense burning sensations throughout the gastrointestinal tract, vomiting (often containing blood and bile), excessive salivation, and a burning, raw feeling in the mouth and throat. Watery diarrhea accompanied by anal and intestinal burning may also be treated. Additionally, it may help alleviate ear-related symptoms including deafness with tinnitus (buzzing, ringing, or roaring). Headaches, particularly those worsening at night or during rest, and improving with movement, may also respond, often preceded by blurred vision after periods of intense mental focus and localized to the right side of the head. Side effects are not known. To ensure efficacy, administer the homeopathic remedy at least 30 minutes after consuming food, drinks, or other medications.
