This homeopathic preparation, derived from potassium bichromate, effectively addresses mucous membrane inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory system, also exhibiting affinity for bone, renal, cardiac, and hepatic tissues. Characteristic is the migratory nature of pain. Nasal symptoms include thick, tenacious, yellow-green discharge; brow pain; nasal septal ulceration (often round); anosmia; violent sneezing; congestion; and especially, snuffles in plump infants. Pain may be felt at the nasal root or as sharp, localized stings. The discharge is often fetid, forming tough, stringy plugs that leave raw surfaces. Throat involvement manifests as redness, burning, swelling, and pain (even diphtheritic). The uvula may be edematous and pendulous. A burning sensation can extend to the stomach. Thick, stringy oral and pharyngeal discharge is common. Meat intolerance is frequent. Gastric ulcers, nausea, and beer-induced vomiting are also responsive. Gastric complaints often improve post-prandially. Hepatosplenic pain may be present. Symptoms are aggravated by heat, beer, and warm weather, and relieved by warmth. Post-prandial heaviness and a sensation of arrested digestion are notable. Urinary symptoms include urethral burning and the sensation of retained urine after voiding, along with stringy mucus in the urine.
