Leonurus cardiaca preparation is suggested for treating conjunctivitis. Characteristic symptoms include a dry, coated, or brownish-white tongue fissured in a branching pattern, with a prominent central crack. Intense thirst exists, but even small amounts of warm or cold water induce epigastric discomfort. Nausea and vomiting frequently follow ingestion, often with persistent retching. Severe abdominal pain, worsened by touch, finds temporary relief from side-lying with legs drawn up or supine with legs extended. Nocturnal diarrhea, initially dark brown and subsequently bloody (without mucus), may occur. Medical oversight is necessary.
