Mercury cyanide-based Mercurius Cyanatus finds application in acute illnesses, particularly respiratory and oral ailments. Characteristic symptoms include intense agitation, rage, and excessive speech; sunken eyes and pallor; extensive mouth ulcerations with a grayish membrane coating a pale tongue; profuse salivation; foul breath; swollen, painful salivary glands. Throat symptoms manifest as rawness, ulceration, and spotty inflammation, especially affecting those who speak publicly, causing hoarseness and painful speech. Severe cases may involve necrotic tissue damage in the palate and throat, accompanied by intense redness, dysphagia, nosebleeds, and diphtheria of the nose and larynx. Gastrointestinal symptoms comprise nausea, bilious or bloody vomiting, hiccups, abdominal pain and tenderness. Rectal symptoms include excruciating pain, anal inflammation, frequent hemorrhaging, tenesmus, foul-smelling, gangrenous discharge, and dark stools. Urinary issues include amber, painful, scanty, albuminous urine, nephritis with profound weakness and chills, and urinary suppression. The skin may be clammy and icy cold. Dosage should follow physician’s instructions and may be combined with conventional medications. Adverse effects are unreported. A thirty-minute interval should separate ingestion from food, beverages, and other medications. Avoid strong-smelling substances like camphor, garlic, onion, coffee, and asafoetida while using this remedy. Strict medical supervision is required.
