Mercury cyanide-based Mercurius Cyanatus finds application in managing acute illnesses, particularly respiratory and oral ailments. Characteristic symptoms include intense agitation, rage, and excessive speech; sunken eyes and pallor; extensive oral ulceration with a pale tongue, excessive salivation, foul breath, swollen and painful salivary glands, and gray membrane-covered mouth ulcers. Throat symptoms present as raw soreness, ulcerated mucous membranes with raw patches (especially noticeable in those who speak frequently), painful hoarseness, and potentially necrotic destruction of the soft palate and throat. Intense throat redness and dysphagia are common. Additional symptoms may include epistaxis, diphtheria of the nose and larynx, nausea, bilious or bloody vomiting, hiccups, abdominal pain and tenderness, intolerable rectal pain, perianal redness, frequent hemorrhagic and tenesmus-ridden stools with a putrid, gangrenous odor, black stools, amber-colored, painful, albuminous, scanty, or suppressed urine, nephritis with severe weakness and chills, and clammy, icy skin. Dosage should strictly follow physician's instructions. Concurrent use with conventional medications is permissible. No side effects are reported. Observe a 30-minute interval between this remedy and food, drinks, or other medications. Avoid strong-smelling substances such as camphor, garlic, onion, coffee, and asafoetida near the mouth during administration. Strict medical supervision is mandatory.
