Mercury cyanide-based Mercurius Cyanatus finds application in acute illnesses, particularly respiratory distress and oral ailments. Marked symptoms include intense agitation, irritability, and excessive speech; sunken eyes and pallor; extensive mouth ulceration with a pale tongue, profuse salivation, foul breath, and swollen, painful salivary glands; grayish membrane covering oral ulcers. Throat manifestations encompass rawness, ulceration, and a raw appearance (especially in vocal users), accompanied by painful hoarseness and dysphonia. Severe cases present with necrotic tissue destruction in the palate and pharynx, intense pharyngeal erythema, and profound dysphagia. Additional symptoms: epistaxis; laryngeal and nasal diphtheria; nausea, bilious or bloody vomiting, and hiccups; abdominal pain and tenderness; unbearable rectal pain, perianal erythema, frequent hemorrhagic stools with tenesmus, and foul, gangrenous discharge; black stools; dark amber, painful, scanty, albuminous urine; nephritis with profound weakness and chills; anuria. The skin exhibits clammy coldness. Dosage: As directed by a physician, compatible with conventional medications. Reported side effects: None. Precautions: Maintain a 30-minute interval between ingestion and other substances (food, drink, medications). Avoid strong odors (camphor, garlic, onion, coffee, asafoetida) prior to administration.
