Mercury cyanide, the basis of Mercurius Cyanatus, finds application in acute illnesses, particularly respiratory distress and oral ailments. Characteristic symptoms include intense agitation, anger outbursts, and excessive speech, accompanied by sunken eyes and pallor. Oral manifestations involve extensive ulceration, a pale tongue, profuse salivation, foul breath, swollen and painful salivary glands, and gray membrane-coated mouth ulcers. Throat symptoms range from rawness and soreness to ulceration and raw patches, especially affecting those who speak frequently, alongside hoarseness and painful speech. Severe cases may exhibit necrotic tissue damage in the palate and throat, intense throat redness, and dysphagia. Other symptoms encompass epistaxis, diphtheria of the nose and larynx, bilious and bloody vomiting with nausea and hiccups, abdominal pain and tenderness, excruciating rectal pain with perianal redness, frequent hemorrhagic stools with tenesmus, foul-smelling, gangrenous discharge, and black stools. Urinary symptoms include dark amber, painful, albuminous, and scanty urine, potentially indicating nephritis with profound weakness and chills, and urinary suppression. The skin may exhibit clammy coldness. Dosage should strictly adhere to physician's instructions and can be combined with conventional medications. No side effects are noted. To maximize efficacy, maintain a 30-minute interval between ingestion and other substances. Avoid strong odors such as camphor, garlic, onion, coffee, and asafoetida during administration.
