Mercury cyanide, the base of Mercurius Cyanatus, finds application in acute illnesses, particularly respiratory and oral ailments. Characterized by intense agitation, anger outbursts, and excessive speech, it presents with sunken eyes and pallid complexion. Oral manifestations include extensive ulceration, a pale tongue, profuse salivation, foul breath, swollen and painful salivary glands, and ulcers coated with a grayish film. Throat symptoms comprise rawness, ulceration, and raw patches, exacerbated in those who speak frequently, along with hoarseness and painful phonation. Severe cases show necrotic damage to the soft palate and throat, intense throat redness, and dysphagia. Other signs include epistaxis, diphtheria of the nose and larynx, nausea, bilious or bloody vomiting, hiccups, abdominal pain and tenderness, intolerable rectal pain, perianal erythema, frequent hemorrhagic stools with tenesmus, foul, gangrenous rectal discharge, and black stools. Urinary symptoms include amber, painful, albuminous, and scant urine, alongside nephritis with profound weakness and chills, and urinary suppression. The skin exhibits dampness with icy coldness. Dosage: strictly as directed by a physician; compatible with conventional medications. Adverse effects: None reported. Precautions: Observe a 30-minute interval between ingestion and other substances (food, drink, medication). Avoid strong oral odors such as camphor, garlic, onion, coffee, and asafoetida.
