Mercurius Hydrargyrum, also known as Quicksilver, is a homeopathic remedy derived from precipitated mercury, formulated for therapeutic use. Symptoms often worsen nocturnally, during perspiration, in warm beds, and damp, cold conditions. Patients exhibit extreme sensitivity to temperature fluctuations. Discharges are typically foul-smelling, with a propensity for ulceration, bleeding, and tissue necrosis. Headaches are intense, accompanied by heat, inflammation, and a tight, bandaged sensation. The scalp may present stinging, burning, fetid eruptions and hair loss, often with oily perspiration. Eyes experience burning sensations and corrosive discharges. This remedy is particularly well-suited to individuals working near fire or molten metals. Nasal symptoms include nosebleeds (especially at night), foul-smelling and bloody discharge, swelling, nasal bone destruction, and sneezing in sunlight. Discharge is often yellow-green, fetid, and purulent. Ear symptoms involve thick, yellow, fetid, and bloody discharge; earaches worsened by warmth and nighttime; and boils in the external ear canal. Oral symptoms include excessive salivation, spongy gums, a moist, yellow, flabby tongue, and halitosis. Gastrointestinal symptoms include intense thirst for cold drinks, constant hunger, abdominal tenderness, hiccups, and regurgitation. Extremities may experience tremors and paralysis, with worsening bone pain at night. Perspiration is profuse, yet un-relieving. Itching intensifies in warm beds. Fever is characterized by profuse, un-relieving perspiration and alternating flushes of heat. Dosage should be as directed by a physician, and it can be used concurrently with conventional medication. Administer with a 30-minute interval before or after food, beverages, or other medications.
