Mercurius Hydrargyrum, also known as Quicksilver, is a homeopathic remedy derived from purified mercury, rendering it both safe and therapeutically effective. Symptoms worsen nocturnally, during sweating, in warm beds, and damp, cold weather; patients exhibit extreme sensitivity to temperature fluctuations. Offensive body odors and discharges are characteristic. A predisposition to ulceration, bleeding, and tissue necrosis is present. Headaches are intense, accompanied by heat and inflammation, a sensation of tight bandaging around the scalp, and burning, foul-smelling eruptions. Hair loss may occur. Scalp tension and oily sweating are common. Eyes experience burning and corrosive discharges. This remedy is particularly well-suited for those working near fires or in metal foundries. Nosebleeds, foul-smelling bloody nasal discharge, nasal bone destruction, and sneezing in sunlight are indicative. Yellow-green, fetid, purulent nasal discharge and nocturnal nosebleeds with copious corrosive mucus are also seen. Ears present with thick, yellow, fetid, and bloody discharge, pain worsened by warmth and nocturnal stabbing pains, and external boils. Excessive salivation, spongy gums, and a moist, yellow, flabby tongue are noted, along with halitosis. Intense thirst for cold drinks, constant hunger, and stomach tenderness, accompanied by hiccups and regurgitation, are also present. Tremors, paralysis, and nocturnal worsening of bone and limb pain affect the extremities. Profuse perspiration offers no relief, with itching exacerbated by warmth. Fevers are characterized by increased sweating without relief and alternating flushes of heat. Dosage should be as directed by a physician and can be used concurrently with conventional medications. Allow a 30-minute interval between ingestion and other substances. Avoid strong-smelling substances such as camphor, garlic, onion, coffee, and asafoetida while taking the medication.
