Mercurius Hydrargyrum, also known as Quicksilver, is a therapeutic remedy derived from purified mercury powder. Its efficacy is heightened during nocturnal hours, perspiration, warmth, and damp, cold conditions. Individuals exhibiting extreme temperature sensitivity respond well. Characteristic symptoms include foul-smelling breath and discharges. A predisposition to ulceration, bleeding, and tissue degradation is also present. Headaches are intense, accompanied by heat, inflammation, and a tight, bandaged sensation on the scalp; stinging, burning, foul-smelling eruptions and hair loss may occur. Oily scalp perspiration is common. Eyes experience burning sensations with corrosive discharges. This remedy is particularly beneficial for those working near fire or metalworking processes. Nosebleeds, foul-smelling bloody nasal discharge, nasal bone destruction, and sneezing in sunlight are prominent. Yellow-green, fetid, purulent nasal discharge and nighttime nosebleeds are also observed. Dosage should be determined by a physician and can be used concurrently with conventional treatments. A 30-minute interval should separate ingestion from food, beverages, and other medications.
