Characteristic symptoms include a leathery, pus-filled scalp; headaches exacerbated by talking; decaying tooth roots; ears feeling as though chilled air has invaded; an urge to dig fingers into the ears; chronic, burning stomach ulcers; a craving for fatty pork; burning sensations in the tongue spreading to the stomach; excessive salivation; chronic gastritis; and intensely burning gastric ulcers.
