Sodium sulfate, derived from Glauber's salt, serves as a valuable remedy for liver ailments. Individuals particularly responsive to this treatment experience symptom exacerbation in damp conditions – rainy weather, wet environments, or residing in humid dwellings. Aversion to aquatic plants and fish is also characteristic. Suicidal ideation may be present. Gastrointestinal symptoms include a brown, bitter-coated tongue, vomiting, heartburn, dyspepsia, and flatulence. Hepatic involvement manifests as tenderness with sharp, stabbing pain, intolerance of tight clothing around the waist, and loose stools, especially worsened after wet weather. Stools are often voluminous, accompanied by flatus. This remedy may also address hepatitis, jaundice, bilious vomiting, post-traumatic meningitis, childhood asthma (with chest-holding during coughing), chronic gout, watery blisters alongside jaundice, and a proclivity for warts.
