Sodium sulfate, derived from Glauber's salt, offers significant therapeutic potential for hepatic disorders. Its efficacy is particularly pronounced in individuals whose symptoms intensify with water exposure – those residing in humid environments, damp dwellings, or experiencing shifts in weather from dry to wet. Aversion to aquatic plants and fish is often observed. Suicidal ideation may be present. Gastrointestinal symptoms include a brownish, bitter tongue coating, emesis, hyperacidity, dyspepsia, pyrosis, and flatulence. Hepatic tenderness, accompanied by sharp, stabbing pain, and intolerance to constrictive waist apparel are common. Loose stools, exacerbated by wet weather, frequently present with voluminous fecal matter and flatus expulsion. Hepatitis, jaundice, and bilious vomiting are also indicated. Further applications include post-traumatic meningitis, childhood asthma (characterized by chest-holding during coughing episodes), chronic gout (manifesting as intense toe pain), wart formation, and jaundiced bullae. Dosage should adhere to physician's instructions; concomitant use with conventional medications is permissible. Adverse effects are unreported.
