Castor oil, derived from *Ricinus communis*, significantly impacts the gastrointestinal system. Its laxative properties are well-known, and it's also used to stimulate lactation in breastfeeding mothers. Symptoms may include epigastric burning with nausea and significant vomiting, dry mouth and thirst, abdominal rumbling and rectus muscle contractions. Watery diarrhea, often accompanied by abdominal cramping and chills, may occur. Gastric burning and tenderness in the epigastric region are also possible. Fever, weight loss, and loose, greenish, slimy, or bloody stools can be observed. For breastfeeding mothers, appropriate dosages, as directed by a physician, can safely enhance milk production. This remedy can be used concurrently with conventional medications. However, maintain a 30-minute interval between its administration and food, beverages, or other medications. Strong odors, such as camphor, garlic, onion, coffee, or asafoetida, should be avoided near the time of ingestion. No side effects have been reported.
