Derived from the dried, unopened flower buds of *Artemisia cina*, santonin is a crystalline compound with recognized efficacy against intestinal parasites, notably roundworms and threadworms. Its applications extend to certain ophthalmological and urinary tract issues. Characteristic symptoms potentially alleviated include visual, auditory, and gustatory hallucinations; eye conditions such as color blindness and strabismus (often worm-related); dark circles under the eyes; urinary infections manifesting as discolored (greenish, reddish-purple) urine, painful or involuntary urination, enuresis, and a sensation of urinary fullness; occipital headaches; nasal itching and digging; foul breath; a deep red tongue; bruxism; nausea improved by eating; a sensation of choking; nausea relieved by food; muscle twitching.
