Derived from dried, unopened *Artemisia cina* flower heads, santonin is a crystalline compound effective against intestinal parasites, notably roundworms and threadworms. Its applications extend to certain eye and urinary tract issues. Hallucinatory symptoms (visual, auditory, gustatory) may occur. Ocular manifestations include color blindness, strabismus (worm-related), and dark circles under the eyes. Urinary symptoms can involve kidney or bladder infections, discolored (greenish, reddish-purple) urine, painful or involuntary urination, enuresis, and a sensation of urinary fullness. Other symptoms may include occipital headache, nasal itching, halitosis, a deep red tongue, bruxism, nausea (relieved by food), a choking sensation, and muscle twitching. Dosage should be as directed by a healthcare professional and can be used concurrently with conventional medications. Administer at least thirty minutes from meals, beverages, and other medications.
