Derived from the dried, unopened flower buds of *Artemisia cina*, santonin is a crystalline compound effective against intestinal parasites like roundworms and threadworms. Beyond its anthelmintic properties, it's also traditionally used for certain eye and urinary issues. Symptoms potentially addressed include visual, auditory, and gustatory hallucinations; eye conditions such as color blindness and strabismus associated with parasitic infestation, dark circles under the eyes; urinary tract infections manifesting as discolored (greenish or reddish-purple) urine, painful urination, enuresis, and urinary urgency or fullness; occipital headaches; nasal itching; halitosis; a deep red tongue; bruxism; nausea improved by eating; a sensation of choking; and muscle twitching. Dosage should be determined by a healthcare professional and can be used concurrently with conventional medications. Administer at least 30 minutes apart from food, beverages, and other medications.
