Golden ragwort (Senecio aureus), also called Life-root or Squaw-weed, yields a tincture from its entirety. Traditionally used for various ailments, it's reputed to address women's health issues, urinary problems, and respiratory conditions. Specifically, it may benefit young women experiencing amenorrhea accompanied by back pain, scanty menstruation, premenstrual cough/colds, or urinary difficulties. It may also alleviate painful menstruation in anemic individuals. Urinary applications include kidney stone pain, hematuria (blood in urine), mucous in urine, dark urine, oliguria (small urine volume), and urinary frequency. Respiratory uses include addressing a loose cough, hoarseness, dyspnea (difficulty breathing), and chest pain.
