Golden ragwort (Senecio aureus), also called Life-root or Squaw-weed, yields a tincture made from the entire plant. Traditionally used for women's health issues, urinary tract problems, and respiratory ailments, it's considered particularly helpful for amenorrhea in young women, often accompanied by back pain and scant, irregular menses. Premenstrual symptoms may include cough, cold, or urinary discomfort. It may also alleviate painful menstruation in anemic individuals.
