Golden ragwort (Senecio aureus), also called Life-root or Squaw-weed, yields a tincture made from the entire plant. Traditionally used for various ailments, it's reputed to address female reproductive issues, urinary tract problems, and respiratory complaints. Specifically, it may benefit young women experiencing amenorrhea (absence of menstruation) accompanied by back pain, scanty menstruation, or premenstrual symptoms such as cough, cold, or urinary discomfort. It may also alleviate painful menstruation in anemic individuals. Urinary applications include kidney stones (with associated pain and backache), hematuria (blood in urine), and pyuria (pus in urine), often presenting as dark, scanty urine with frequent urination. Respiratory uses include treating loose coughs, hoarseness, dyspnea (difficulty breathing), and chest pain.
