Silveleb Cream, a silver sulfadiazine-based topical agent, aids in preventing and managing wound infections as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Its mechanism involves inhibiting bacterial proliferation within open wounds, thus mitigating the spread of infection to adjacent tissues or the bloodstream, preventing potentially serious bloodstream infections. Specifically indicated for the prevention and treatment of second- and third-degree burn infections, Silveleb Cream is typically applied once or twice daily. Daily cleansing of the burn site to remove necrotic tissue is recommended. Prior to application, the burn area should be thoroughly cleaned and debrided. A thin layer (approximately 0.2 centimeters) of cream should be applied and maintained continuously, replenishing any areas where the cream is removed.
