It can be taken with or without food, but consistent daily timing is recommended. Long-term, even lifelong, use may be necessary; discontinuation or dosage changes require physician approval to avoid increased risk of stroke, heart attack, or thrombosis. Lifestyle modifications like quitting smoking, healthy eating, exercise, and weight management further reduce clotting risk.
