Melasma, characterized by dark patches on the skin, responds to the combined action of Glow & Shine Cream's three active ingredients: hydroquinone, mometasone furoate, and tretinoin. Hydroquinone, a depigmenting agent, diminishes melanin production, thus lightening skin discoloration; this effect is temporary. Mometasone furoate, a corticosteroid, counteracts inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, reducing redness, swelling, and itching. Finally, tretinoin, a retinoid (vitamin A derivative), accelerates skin cell turnover for improved skin renewal.
