Overview Jolavi Tablet

Hypotensive episodes are addressed with the medication, Jolavi Tablet. Its purpose is to alleviate dizziness associated with postural hypotension, the sudden drop in blood pressure upon standing. This effect is achieved by vasoconstriction, thereby increasing blood pressure. Jolavi Tablet may be administered with or without food, ideally during daytime hours when individuals are most active. However, it should be avoided if prolonged recumbency is anticipated following ingestion. Adherence to the prescribed dosage and cessation only under medical supervision are crucial. Regular blood pressure monitoring is essential during treatment. Potential adverse reactions include headache, nausea, rash, urinary retention, dysuria, and flushing. Supine hypertension (elevated blood pressure while lying down) is also a possibility. Report any concerning side effects to your physician. Prior to commencing treatment, disclose any pre-existing kidney or liver conditions to your doctor. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should seek medical counsel before use. Complete disclosure of all concurrent medications is mandatory, and your doctor may order kidney and liver function tests before and throughout treatment.

FAQs on Jolavi Tablet

Jolavi Tablet can elevate blood pressure when lying down (supine hypertension). It's reserved for individuals whose low blood pressure significantly impacts daily life and who haven't responded to other treatments.
Jolavi Tablet may cause a mild slowing of the heart rate. Concomitant use with other medications that also lower heart rate, such as beta-blockers and digitalis, requires caution. Patients exhibiting symptoms of bradycardia should be closely monitored.
Avoid lying down immediately after taking Jolavi Tablet due to the risk of supine hypertension. To minimize this risk, take your final daily dose at least four hours before sleep. Elevating your head at night can further reduce this risk.
Jolavi Tablet's effects become noticeable within approximately one hour, lasting for two to three hours.
Take Jolavi Tablet precisely as prescribed. Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food. The usual dosage is three times daily (morning, midday, and before 6 PM), spaced at least 3 hours apart. The final dose should be taken before dinner and at least 4 hours before sleep.
Jolavi Tablet is contraindicated in patients with allergies to its components, severe heart disease, bradycardia, hypertension, arterial stenosis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary retention, pheochromocytoma, acute or severe renal disease, hyperthyroidism, diabetic retinopathy, and narrow-angle glaucoma.
Before starting Jolavi Tablet, blood pressure, kidney, and liver function tests are recommended. During treatment, monitor your blood pressure and heart rate regularly, particularly after resting in a supine position.
Supine hypertension may cause chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, headache, or blurred vision. Report these symptoms to your doctor immediately. They may lower your Jolavi Tablet dosage or stop treatment if symptoms continue.
Combining Jolavi Tablet and metoprolol can significantly lower your heart rate. Use caution when taking both medications. Report slow pulse, dizziness, or fainting to your doctor, as dosage adjustments may be necessary.
