Overview Knoglina Nasal Spray

Nasal OsteoSpray is a medication prescribed to treat postmenopausal osteoporosis, enhancing bone density and reducing fracture risk. It may also alleviate bone pain related to Paget's disease. Administer OsteoSpray precisely as directed by your physician. Before each dose, gently clear your nasal passages. Apply the spray to one nostril, keeping the other closed, then inhale deeply to ensure proper distribution. Repeat for the other nostril. Concurrent calcium and vitamin D supplementation is recommended to optimize treatment efficacy. Common, typically mild, side effects include nasal discharge, epistaxis, backache, arthralgia, headache, and nasal irritation/discomfort. Persistent or bothersome side effects warrant medical attention. Prior to commencing treatment, inform your doctor of any pre-existing cardiac, renal, or hepatic conditions. Consult your doctor before using OsteoSpray if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

FAQs on Knoglina Nasal Spray

Knoglina Nasal Spray requires refrigeration before opening, ideally between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. After opening, store at room temperature (15°C to 30°C).
Knoglina Nasal Spray uses calcitonin, a naturally occurring thyroid hormone, to regulate calcium balance. This helps reduce bone loss and damage in osteoporosis patients, and may even stimulate bone formation and increase bone density in some cases.
Knoglina Nasal Spray may lower blood calcium levels. Severely low blood calcium can cause numbness or tingling in the fingers, toes, or mouth. Blood calcium should be monitored; contact your doctor immediately if these symptoms occur.
Use this medication as directed by your doctor; ask if you have questions. Typically, one spray is administered in a single nostril daily. Begin with one spray in the left nostril on day one, then the right nostril on day two, alternating nostrils daily. Each bottle contains 30 doses. Discard the bottle after 30 days.
Pregnancy and Knoglina Nasal Spray use are not generally recommended. Insufficient evidence exists to confirm a link between the spray and birth defects or miscarriage, but caution is advised. Use during pregnancy should only occur if a doctor deems the potential benefits significantly outweigh the risks.
