Epileptic seizures are managed with the anticonvulsant Levihop Injection, administered intravenously by a healthcare professional via slow infusion. This medication, used either independently or in conjunction with other therapies, provides seizure control for the duration of its use. Primarily indicated for short-term seizure management when oral medication is impractical (e.g., unconsciousness), Levihop Injection requires consistent administration as directed by your physician, even during symptom remission. Discontinuing or missing doses may exacerbate seizures. Following injection therapy, your doctor will likely transition you to oral anticonvulsants for long-term control. Common, generally transient side effects include drowsiness, headache, infection, local irritation, nasal congestion, aggressive behavior, and decreased appetite. Behavioral changes, including agitation and irritability, are also possible. While many side effects resolve as your body adjusts, serious reactions such as allergic reactions (hives, itching, weakness, dizziness, respiratory distress, or facial/tongue/throat swelling), persistent rashes, or significant behavioral shifts (confusion, memory loss, irritability, increased aggression) warrant immediate medical attention. Suicidal ideation has been reported in a small subset of patients; consult your doctor if your mood deteriorates. Prior to commencing treatment, inform your physician of any kidney issues, pre-existing depression or suicidal tendencies, or pregnancy/pregnancy plans. Alcohol consumption should be avoided due to the potential for increased seizure risk and amplified side effects (drowsiness, dizziness). Impaired driving/machinery operation is possible due to drowsiness and dizziness. Regular kidney function monitoring may be necessary during treatment.

Should you forget a Levihop Injection, administer it immediately. However, if your next dose is imminent, omit the missed injection and resume your usual dosing schedule. Never take a double dose.
