Overview Loprolif 0.1% Ointment

Eczema (atopic dermatitis) is treated with Dermacalm 0.1% Ointment. This ointment reduces skin inflammation (redness and swelling) by modulating the activity of specific immune cells. This alleviates itching and improves the appearance of atopic dermatitis rashes. Dermacalm 0.1% Ointment is for external application only. Apply thinly and evenly to affected areas 2–4 times daily, or as directed by your physician. Avoid over-application and do not cover treated skin with dressings. Consult your doctor if symptoms worsen or show no improvement after a fortnight. Possible side effects include skin redness, headache, folliculitis, and application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness. FAQs on Loprolif 0.1% Ointment

Loprolif 0.1% Ointment is an immune-modulating medication that primarily reduces immune system activity. It treats moderate to severe eczema (atopic dermatitis) in adults whose condition is unresponsive to, or who experience side effects from, steroid treatments. Atopic dermatitis involves an overactive skin immune system, causing inflammation, itch, redness, and dryness. Loprolif 0.1% Ointment targets this abnormal immune response, thereby alleviating inflammation and itch.
Applying Loprolif 0.1% Ointment may cause mild to moderate skin irritation, including burning, itching, redness, warmth, pain, altered sensation, and rash at the application site. These side effects usually subside within a week. Treatment may also increase the risk of inflamed or infected hair follicles, cold sores, acne, and generalized herpes simplex infections.
Loprolif 0.1% Ointment offers safe and effective short-term atopic dermatitis treatment, demonstrating superior safety compared to other immunosuppressants. Minimal systemic absorption following topical application results in fewer side effects than oral immunosuppressants.
Loprolif 0.1% Ointment is not a controlled substance because it lacks abuse potential. Controlled substances require authorization from both a doctor and regulatory authorities due to their potential for misuse.
Prolonged use of Loprolif 0.1% Ointment may increase the risk of lymphoma, a type of lymph node tumor. Studies show a small association between Loprolif 0.1% Ointment (or similar medications) and the development of skin cancer or lymphoma. If using Loprolif 0.1% Ointment for over six weeks, or if your eczema worsens or fails to improve, consult your doctor.
Loprolif 0.1% Ointment is a non-steroidal medication that modifies the immune system's function. It's used to treat eczema, particularly atopic dermatitis, and avoids the skin thinning and other side effects associated with steroids.
