The typical dosage is twice daily, morning and evening. If vomiting occurs within 30 minutes, repeat the dose; however, do not double the dose if it's nearly time for the next one. Dosage and treatment length depend on the infection's type and severity, your child's age, and weight; always follow your doctor's instructions precisely. Minor, temporary side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, metallic taste, headache, decreased appetite, abdominal discomfort, and mild rash, may occur. Pre-treatment assessment of your child's G6PD deficiency status is recommended. Administering N Met Suspension should be avoided in children with G6PD deficiency, as this can cause hemolysis and potentially severe anemia.
Combining N Met Suspension and cough/cold medications containing alcohol is contraindicated. This combination may trigger a disulfiram-like reaction, resulting in adverse effects including nausea, vomiting, facial flushing, and dizziness.
