Overview Paxiba 2.5 Tablet
CardioGuard 2.5mg tablets function as an anticoagulant, effectively preventing and treating blood clots. This medication inhibits clot formation in leg, lung, brain, and heart veins, thereby lowering stroke and heart attack risk. CardioGuard 2.5mg is frequently prescribed for patients with atrial fibrillation to prevent clot development and is also used post-elective hip or knee replacement to minimize clotting risk. It can be administered with or without food, ideally at the same time daily. Long-term use, sometimes lifelong, may be necessary; discontinuation or dosage alteration should only occur under physician supervision to avoid significantly increased risk of stroke, heart attack, or thrombosis. Lifestyle modifications—such as cessation of smoking, healthy eating, regular exercise, and weight management—further reduce clot risk. Increased bleeding (e.g., nosebleeds, bruising) is the most prevalent side effect; report any unusual symptoms immediately. Additional potential side effects include hematoma, anemia, and nausea. Contraindications include severe hepatic or renal impairment, active bleeding, and concurrent use of other anticoagulants. Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment. Unlike many anticoagulants, routine PT-INR monitoring is unnecessary.
