Overview Refcold Tablet

ConGesT tablets offer symptomatic relief from the common cold. They temporarily alleviate nasal congestion and address allergy symptoms such as rhinorrhea and ocular itching. Dosage and duration of ConGesT should strictly adhere to your physician's instructions, varying based on individual response and condition severity. Complete the prescribed course; premature discontinuation may lead to symptom recurrence and potential worsening of your condition. Disclose all other medications to your doctor, as interactions are possible. Common, usually transient, side effects include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, xerostomia, sleeplessness, agitation, lassitude, and cephalalgia. Report any concerning side effects immediately. Drowsiness and dizziness are possible; avoid operating machinery or driving until the effects are known. Alcohol consumption should be avoided due to potential exacerbation of dizziness. Prior to commencing treatment, inform your doctor of any hepatic or renal impairment to ensure appropriate dosage. Pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy patients should also consult their physician. Important: ConGesT is contraindicated for patients under 12 years of age, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare guidelines.

FAQs on Refcold Tablet

Refcold Tablet combines caffeine, cetirizine, nimesulide, paracetamol, and phenylephrine to alleviate common cold symptoms such as body aches, headache, fatigue, fever, watery eyes, sneezing, cough, sore throat, and nasal congestion.
Breastfeeding while taking Refcold Tablets, which contain the antihistamine cetirizine, is not recommended. Cetirizine can transfer to breast milk, potentially harming your baby. If prescribed Refcold, tell your doctor you're breastfeeding.
Refcold Tablets, containing Paracetamol and Nimesulide, can harm the liver, particularly at higher than recommended doses. Alcohol should be avoided while taking this medication due to increased liver damage risk. Patients with pre-existing liver disease should not use Refcold. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as fever, rash, appetite loss, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, jaundice (yellow skin or eyes), or abnormal liver enzyme levels.
Refcold Tablets contain caffeine; therefore, you should avoid other caffeine sources, such as coffee, tea, cola, and chocolate, to prevent excessive caffeine intake. High caffeine levels can lead to sleep disturbances, tremors, and chest discomfort. Alcohol consumption (beer, wine, etc.) should also be avoided while taking this medication.
Refcold Tablets may cause drowsiness or sleepiness, impacting your ability to perform activities requiring alertness. Refrain from driving, operating machinery, working at heights, or engaging in hazardous tasks until you understand the medication's effects on you. Report any drowsiness or sleepiness to your doctor.
Refcold Tablet rarely causes serious side effects. However, seek immediate medical help if you experience allergic reactions, skin rash or peeling, mouth sores, breathing difficulties, unusual bleeding, recurring fevers or infections, vision problems, or a rapid or irregular heartbeat. While infrequent, these side effects require prompt attention.
Exceeding the recommended dosage won't necessarily improve results; it could actually increase the risk of severe side effects and toxicity. If your symptoms worsen despite taking the prescribed dose, consult your doctor for further assessment.
Store this medication in its original, tightly closed container, following the storage instructions on the packaging. Discard any unused medication and keep it out of reach of children, pets, and others.
